Photometric Engineer at Spectrum Lighting

Paul Cofield has extensive work experience in engineering and lighting design. Paul started their career as a Contract Engineer at Monroe Engineering in 1998 and later worked as a Contract Engineer at RCM Technologies, Butler Design Services, and Sikorsky Aircraft from 1999 to 2009. During this time, they developed an ACE booklet to improve engineering change notices and reduce drawing errors. In 2010, Paul became self-employed, specializing in creating SolidWorks 3D models and 2D drawings for project submittals. Paul also provided consulting services for LED models and software tutorials. In 2017, Paul joined Spectrum Lighting, Inc. as a Photometric Engineer, responsible for creating IES photometric files for lighting calculation software and generating accurate data for the online catalog. Paul produced a large volume of photometric report files with detailed luminous intensities and color data. Paul also translated lighting software commands into German for users in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Paul Cofield has a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering with a focus on Illuminating Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. Their education history also includes studies in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Connecticut. In addition, they have obtained a certification in "Introduction to Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing" from LinkedIn in May 2020.
