Andrew Innes

Chief Architect at Speechmatics

Andrew Innes has over 28 years of work experience. Andrew began their career in 1993 as a Software Developer at Harlequin, where they implemented and debugged numerous features for a high-performance cross-platform PostScript-compatible RIP for 5 years, and co-led the initial design and development of a distributed record collection system for data mining of police records for 1 year. In 1999, they joined Citrix Systems as a Software Developer, where they supported system code porting between Unix and Windows NT, investigated Crypto-RNG seeding on Unix, and prototyped password-less login to Windows NT. Andrew then assumed the roles of Software Architect, End User Services, Software Architect, Authentication and Workspace, and Acting Product Manager, Authentication & Identity, driving requirements definition, prioritization and roadmap for authentication and single sign-on features across most Citrix products, and advising the executive leadership on the Citrix Authentication and Identity strategy. In 2018, they joined Speechmatics as a Software Architect, and in 2021 they were appointed Chief Architect.

Andrew Innes received their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto between 1983 and 1987. Andrew then completed Postgraduate Research in Decision Theory at the University of Cambridge from 1987 to 1990. Finally, they earned their Master of Science (MS) in Operations Research from the University of Cambridge between 1990 and 1993.
