Tara Schöller-Burke

Legal Counsel at Speedinvest

Tara is a real cosmopolitan. She was born in Austria, grew up in Ireland and after a year of travelling the world with her family as a 12-year-old, moved to New Zealand.

Tara completed a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts majoring in International Relations at Victoria University, Wellington. After graduating, her interest in global affairs led her to intern at the European Parliament in the Directorate General for External Affairs. Tara returned to New Zealand in 2016 to start her career as a lawyer at a large national law firm. There, she specialised in corporate and commercial law with a particular focus on capital markets, business sales and acquisitions, as well as corporate structuring and governance.

Tara advised a range of domestic and international clients and gained experience dealing with New Zealand market regulators, such as the Takeovers Panel, Financial Markets Authority and the New Zealand Stock Exchange. She was involved in a substantial number of private and public capital raisings, employee share purchase schemes, share purchase plans and stock exchange listings.

Recently, Tara returned to Vienna and is excited to work with and apply her skills and experience to Europe’s thriving startup community. Outside of work, she loves to travel to warmer locations, discover new bands and explore local cafes and restaurants.
