Nick Pappas

Director of Business Development at Sphere Fluidics

Nick Pappas has held various positions in the life sciences and healthcare industries since 2007. Nick began their career as a Production Manager at Help Pharmaceuticals, where they were in charge of the full range of pharmaceutical products manufactured by the company. In 2009, they joined the Max Planck Institute for Biophysical Chemistry as a Molecular Cell Biology Scientist. From 2012 to 2018, they were a Management Consultant and Global Lead Specialist at GE Healthcare. During this time, they assisted Biotech and Healthcare organisations with their operational, strategy and performance needs, and was also a strategic account manager in charge of the technology and application needs of key customers. In 2018, they took on the role of Senior Business Development Specialist at Sharp Life Science (EU) Limited. Most recently, they were a Business Development Manager at UK Research and Innovation, where they led the growth of business activity for the STFC Hartree Centre by engaging with industry and public organisations and developing partnership opportunities. In 2022, they will be taking on the role of Director of Business Development at Sphere Fluidics Limited.

Nick Pappas served in the Greek Army from 2002 to 2004, attaining the rank of Reserve Lieutenant. Nick then attended the University of Ioannina from 1998 to 2002, where they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Science (B.Sc.) in Chemistry & Biochemistry. From 2004 to 2007, they continued their studies at the University of Ioannina, earning a Master's Degree in Science (M.Sc.) in Biotechnology (Molecular Biology & Oncology). Nick also holds certifications from Cambridge International Examinations, including the Cambridge International Diploma in IT Skills and the Cambridge Proficiency in English (CPE). Additionally, they have a certification in Mental Health First Aid from Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England.
