Scott Ritchey

Scott Ritchey has over 20 years of work experience in the technology industry. Scott started their career as a Technical Analyst at Georgia Pacific in June 1997 and worked there until April 1999. After that, they joined SPIE, the international society for optics and photonics, in April 1999 as an Online Systems Engineer. Scott then progressed to the role of Enterprise Architect in April 2004 and then became the Director of IT in August 2006. Finally, in May 2017, Scott became the Chief Technology Officer at SPIE, a position they currently hold. In their current role, they are responsible for advancing light-based technologies and overseeing major technical forums, exhibitions, and education programs organized by SPIE across the globe.

Scott Ritchey has a diverse education history. Scott began their academic journey in 1992 at Western Washington University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business (MIS) and East Asian Studies. Scott completed their undergraduate education in 1996.

In 2010, Scott Ritchey enrolled in the MIT Sloan School of Management to gain further expertise in strategy and innovation. Scott successfully obtained an Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation in 2013.

Continuing their educational pursuits, Scott Ritchey enrolled at the University of Washington in 2014. Over the course of two years, they completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) degree with a focus on Executive studies in 2016.

Through their education, Scott Ritchey has developed a strong foundation in business, with particular emphasis on strategy, innovation, and executive leadership.
