Romy Graichen (MBACP) has been working in the field of mental health since 2002. Romy began their career as a Pastoral Care at Chetham's School of Music, followed by a role as an Editorial Assistant at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2005. In the same year, they also took up a role as a Language Assistant at Bridgewater School. In 2006, they moved to the NSPCC, where they held the position of ChildLine Supervisor and Sessional Supervisor, offering counselling to children and young people using a Child-centred approach, as well as safeguarding children and making risk assessments and referrals to outside agencies. In 2007, they returned to Manchester Metropolitan University as an Assistant Lecturer. From 2012 to 2019, they worked at Therapy Advances as a Trainer, Therapist and Counsellor, and Counselling Supervisor. Most recently, in 2021, they joined Spill as a Clinical Supervisor & Safeguarding Lead.
Romy Graichen (MBACP) has a comprehensive education history in psychology and psychotherapy. In 2001, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Psychology from The Manchester Metropolitan University. Romy then went on to obtain a Person-Centred Counselling Certificate from PCCS in 2007-2008. In 2008-2012, they obtained a Diploma in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy from the Manchester Institute of Psychoherapy in the field of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. In 2018-2019, they obtained a Certificate in Relationship Therapy from The Couples Institute in the field of Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy. Finally, in 2019, they obtained a Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision from the Manchester Institute of Psychotherapy.
