Alex McKinnon is an accomplished professional with extensive experience in the field of multi-employer pension and benefit plans in Canada. Currently serving as President of the Multi-Employer Benefits Counsel of Canada (MEBCO) since October 2020, McKinnon advocates for these plans through a tripartite board. Additional leadership roles include Vice Chair of the Board of Directors at Spinal Cord Injury Ontario, Trustee at the University Pension Plan, and active membership on the MEPP Advisory Committee for the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Ontario (FSRA). Prior experience includes a lengthy tenure as Department Leader in the Research Department at United Steelworkers and significant contributions as Secretary Treasurer for MEBCO. McKinnon has also served as Vice Chair of the University of Toronto Pension Committee. Educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Wilfrid Laurier University.
