Director R&D at Spiral Therapeutics

Benson Jung serves as the Director of R&D at Spiral Therapeutics since December 2020, where responsibilities include overseeing formulations and research and development. Prior to this, Benson held positions as Senior Scientist, Project Lead, and Research Scientist within the same organization. At the University of California, Berkeley, from August 2015 to August 2020, Benson contributed as a Graduate Student Researcher in the Materials Science and Engineering Department under Professor Ting Xu's group, focusing on the structure-function relationships of peptide-based nanocarriers. Additionally, Benson gained teaching experience as a Graduate Student Instructor for a course on Polymeric Materials, where lesson materials and exams for approximately 80 students were developed and graded. Earlier experience includes a research internship at pH Matter, LLC, where environmental catalysts were designed and characterized. Benson holds a Ph.D. in Materials Science and Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and a B.S. in the same field from The Ohio State University.
