Director, Communication and Colleague Experiences at Spiras Health

Melissa Price has over 20 years of professional experience in communication, training, and development. In 2021, they began their role as Manager of Communication, Training & Development at Spiras Health, where they manage training, including onboarding, clinical, and compliance. Melissa also creates interactive modules and facilitates live and synchronous online training, as well as writing and delivering engaging communication that simplifies complex concepts. Prior to this, Price held the Lead Training Specialist position at Spiras Health, where they led a two-person training team and overhauled and streamlined the onboarding program. Melissa also provided ongoing analysis, design, and delivery of clinical training needs for new services and existing workflows. From 2011-2020, Price was a Secondary English Teacher at Rutherford County Schools, evaluating desired learning outcomes and student knowledge, designing, delivering, and modifying curriculum for students at all levels of classroom achievement and motivation. Melissa also led the English III professional learning community, working with peers to collaborate on curriculum, methods, and assessment. From 2019-2020, Price was an Advisor at Motlow State Community College. From 2008-2009, they were an Operations Systems Trainer at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, evaluating, planning, and overhauling outdated new-hire training and writing and editing heavily revised training manuals and adjunct materials. From 2001-2004, Price was an Adjunct Instructor at Motlow State Community College, planning, delivering, and adjusting curriculum and instruction to widely varying student populations. In 2000, they were an Adjunct Instructor at West Georgia Technical College, planning, delivering, and adjusting desktop publishing curriculum and instruction to adult learners. From 1994-1998, Price was a Desktop Publishing Manager at SunTrust Bank, proposing, structuring, and managing a desktop publishing department within the Atlanta-based corporate bank, including working with subject-matter experts to craft and publish marketing materials, newsletters, and sales presentations. Melissa also wrote a corporate style manual for sales materials and created and delivered training for it.

Melissa Price received their Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Berry College in 1992 and their Master of Arts in Education, Curriculum & Instruction from Cumberland University in 2011.
