Don McIvor

Don McIvor is an experienced professional in the oil and gas industry, currently serving as the Production Optimisation Lead at Spirit Energy since November 2018, overseeing production optimisation for operated assets in the East Irish Sea. Previous roles include Offshore Installation Manager (OIM) at Operations Integrated Solutions Ltd where responsibilities involved the ST1 Platform removal and developing operational procedures, and Decommissioning Consultant with Operations Integrated Solutions, managing multiple decommissioning projects. Don's career began at Nexen, progressing from Control Room Operator to Operations Engineer and ultimately to Control of Work Lead, focusing on safety and operational improvements. Early experience includes roles as a Production Operator at Petrofac and a Metering Engineer at Rhomax Engineering. Don holds an MSc in Petroleum Production Engineering from Robert Gordon University and a BSc in Fluid Dynamics, Mechanical Engineering from The Open University.
