Alex Ebsary

Alex Ebsary is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in program management and advocacy, currently serving as the Regional Program Manager for the Middle East and Central Asia at Spirit of America since July 2022. As Co-Founder and President of Music in Exile since August 2016, Alex has demonstrated strong leadership in the non-profit sector. Previous roles include Team Lead for Nutrition Outreach and Advocacy at the World Food Programme, Senior Program Officer II at IREX, and various directorial positions within the Kurdistan Regional Government. Alex began the career as an English Teacher at The International School of Choueifat in Erbil. Academic credentials include a Master of Arts in Kurdish Studies from the University of Exeter and a Bachelor of Science in Physics from West Virginia University, supplemented with studies at Yıldız Teknik University and Boğaziçi University.
