John Schroder

John Schroder is an experienced international consultant and regional director with a focus on Africa at Spirit of America since April 2021. Previously, as co-founder and director of Steelhead Global Advisors, John led a consulting firm that specialized in developing commercial partnerships globally. John's earlier roles include serving as a lead foreign affairs officer at the U.S. Department of State, where John built strategies for peaceful elections in Kenya, and as an associate protection officer at the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, managing large-scale refugee repatriation programs. John has also conducted research on foreign policy issues at The Brookings Institution and worked on refugee resettlement initiatives for Church World Service. John holds a Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law, a degree in Ethics and Political Theory from the University of Oxford, and a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy from the University of Arkansas.
