Shawn Galvin

Shawn Galvin serves as the Orchestra Manager for Spoleto Festival USA since November 2023 and has a long-standing association with the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, performing as a Percussionist and Timpanist on consecutive one-year contracts since September 1997, as well as serving as an Extra Percussionist. Additionally, Shawn has held the position of Artist-in-Residence at Louisiana State University since September 2020 and was the Founder and Curator of New Music Raleigh from September 2009 to September 2019. Extra Percussionist roles were also held with the North Carolina Symphony from January 2008 to May 2017, and Shawn performed with the United States Navy Band from May 2001 to April 2008 in the capacity of Percussionist and Timpanist. Educational qualifications include a Master’s Degree in Arts Administration from Drexel University (2015-2016) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Performance from Duquesne University (1995-1999).
