Claire Maggs

Claire Maggs has extensive work experience spanning over several organizations. Claire started their career as an Office Manager in a Private Ltd Company in 1987 and then worked as an Administrative Officer at the Building Research Establishment from 1990 to 1993. Claire joined the Highways Agency in 1993 as a Higher Executive Officer and Program Office Manager until 2004.

After that, they worked at McArthur Developments Ltd from 2004 to 2009, where they held the positions of Owner, Director, and Company Secretary. During this time, they successfully managed a house-building venture, overseeing various tasks such as feasibility studies, planning, land acquisition, marketing, etc.

From 2004 to 2011, Claire served at the Audit Commission, initially as a Project Support Officer and later as a Housing Information Manager and Project Support Team Leader. Claire then became a Regional Team Leader and Freedom of Information Assessor from 2008 to 2011.

In 2011, they transitioned to the Big Lottery Fund, where they held multiple roles. Initially, as a Funding Manager (Investment), they worked with voluntary sector organizations to implement the Strategic Framework principles and contribute to the People in the Lead vision. Claire also led the International Communities team and participated in various initiatives, including the development of the Collaborative portfolio within England. Subsequently, they became the Regional Funding Manager until 2018.

Finally, Claire joined Sport England in 2018 as the Head of Investment Management, overseeing investment strategies and programs.

Claire Maggs began their education at Barrhead High School, where they studied from 1982 to 1987. Claire then went on to attend Cambuslang College in Glasgow, where they pursued a degree in Business Administration. The exact dates of this educational experience are unknown. Later, in 2013, Claire enrolled at the University of Derby, where they completed a Leadership Development Diploma in 2014.
