Dr. Una May serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Sport Ireland since January 2022, bringing extensive experience in sports management, having previously held the role of Director of Participation and Ethics and Director of Anti-Doping at the Irish Sports Council from September 1998 to April 2023. In these positions, Dr. May was instrumental in the establishment of the National Anti-Doping Programme, promotion of ethics in sports, and initiatives aimed at increasing participation in sport. Dr. May also has a background in academia, with a PhD in Exercise Physiology and a BSc(Hons) in Sports Science from Liverpool John Moores University, complemented by a Diploma in Travel and Tourism from Technological University Dublin.
