Martin Parr

Martin Parr has diverse experience in technology operations and leadership roles. Martin currently serves as the Head of Technology (Group CISO) at Sporting Group, where they are responsible for technology operation and delivery, security operations, and compliance. Prior to this, they were the Head of Technology Operations, accountable for technology operation, customer platform delivery, and transforming legacy systems at the company.

Before joining Sporting Group, Martin worked at KORE Wireless, holding various director-level positions. As the Director of Global IT Operations and Network Engineering, they focused on streamlining IoT network services and delivering MVP solutions for new IoT services. Martin also served as the Director of Global IT Operations, where they led teams to deliver world-class IT service management and fostered a culture of teamwork. Additionally, as the Director of IT Operations - EMEA, they provided thought leadership, built service delivery maturity, and managed technical M&A for key acquisitions.

Prior to KORE Wireless, Martin was the Head of Technology - EMEA at Wyless, where they mentored and provided subject matter expertise across the network engineering organization. Martin also played key roles in platform consolidation and migration projects.

Earlier in their career, Martin worked at ACT Conferencing, a PGi Company, as a Technical Infrastructure Team Lead, overseeing teams in APAC, EMEA, and North America. Martin was responsible for infrastructure stabilization projects, planning and implementing new platforms, and serving as a technical representative for key customer meetings.

Martin's work experience also includes serving as a Telecommunications Operator in the British Army.

Martin Parr attended Bushey Meads High School from 1989 to 1994, where they obtained their General Certificate of Secondary Education (G.C.S.E). Martin then went on to study at the Royal School of Signals in Blandford from 1996 to 1998, where they earned a Telecommunications Operator - Telegraph (Class 3) degree in the field of Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications. In terms of additional certifications, Martin Parr obtained several qualifications including "Presenting Technical Information with Stories," "Giving Your Elevator Pitch," "ITIL® Foundation 4 First Look," and "Teaching Civility in the Workplace" from LinkedIn, with the obtained dates ranging from 2019 to 2020. Martin also holds an ITIL Foundation Level certification from AXELOS Global Best Practice, although the specific obtained dates are not provided.
