Kara Anastasiadis

Kara Anastasiadis has a diverse work experience in the retail industry. Kara began their career at FGL Sports Ltd in 2005, where they held multiple roles including Interim Buyer and Purchasing Analyst, and later became a Category Business Manager. During their time at FGL Sports Ltd, Kara managed teams, developed relationships with vendors, and collaborated with internal departments.

In 2016, Kara moved up to become an Associate Vice President at FGL Sports Ltd, responsible for Merchandise Strategy. In this role, they focused on strategic category management, assortment selection, pricing, and promotional strategies, as well as integrated business planning across multiple departments.

From 2017 to 2021, Kara worked as President of Outdoor at OvareGroup, where they provided executive leadership and full P&L accountability for a portfolio of outdoor lifestyle brands and retail locations. Kara developed and implemented new strategies and operations to achieve long-term business objectives.

Currently, Kara is Vice President of Purchasing at Sporting Life Group, where they oversee all Outdoor & Sport Lifestyle apparel categories. Kara is also the Women's Strategy Lead, cohost of the "What Kara Said" Podcast, and the Organizational Sustainability Lead. Additionally, they have experience in business development, having served as Vice President of Business Development at Sporting Life Group.

Throughout their career, Kara has demonstrated strong leadership skills, strategic thinking, and a focus on achieving business goals.

Kara Anastasiadis' education history includes attending Kellogg Executive Education in 2017 for a program on Driving Growth with Retail Analytics, and obtaining a Bachelor of Kinesiology degree from The University of Lethbridge from 2000 to 2004.
