Michael Proman has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Starting in 2003, they worked as a Coordinator for Worldwide Sports at The Coca-Cola Company. Michael then moved on to become a Senior Manager in Global Business Development at the National Basketball Association from 2004 to 2008. Michael further worked as VP of Marketing Partnerships & Development Strategy for OptionIt, a company that focuses on creating new revenue opportunities through consumer-driven goods and services. From 2011 to 2012, Michael served as Director of Strategic Development at Mozes, Inc., a company providing custom solutions for brand activation and consumer engagement. Michael then served as Director of Marketing & Partnership Development at Pounce from 2013 to 2014. From 2015 to 2018, Michael worked as the Managing Director of North America at fancam. Since 2018, they have held the position of Managing Director at various companies, including SPORTS TECH TOKYO, an international sports tech community, and SmartCityX, an open innovation program for developing the "city of the future" with diverse technologies. Currently, Michael is the Managing Director and Partner for Scrum Sports & Entertainment at Scrum Ventures.
Michael Proman earned their BA in Asian Studies and Law, Jurisprudence & Social Thought from Amherst College, where they studied from 1999 to 2003. In 2002, they briefly studied Asian Studies and Chinese Economics at East China Normal University. Prior to their college education, they attended Breck School from 1984 to 1999.

SPORTS TECH TOKYO
SPORTS TECH TOKYO is a global mentor-driven program for startups developing cutting-edge sports technology. The program is presented by Dentsu, one of the world’s largest advertising brands, and Scrum Ventures, a U.S.-based venture capital firm. The program involves the selection of 150 sports tech companies across multiple areas of focus who will have access to exclusive events and mentorships in the U.S. and Japan. Following the initial immersion in Tokyo, 10-20 finalists will be chosen to participate in a three-month virtual program--culminating in a World Demo Day, where finalists will present enhanced technologies and partnerships developed during the program. Benefits to participants/finalists: - 150 startups will be selected as participants, gaining access to exclusive events and programing to further accelerate their growth - 10-20 startups will be selected as finalists to participate in a 3 month program--concluding with in a world demo day. This is an opportunity to learn from and connect with industry executives, world-class mentors, investors, and brands. - Opportunity to showcase new technologies and/or products developed through the program.
