James Perkins has a diverse work experience spanning several decades. James began their career in 1971 at Jackson State University, where they held various positions such as Professor and Founding Dean. During this time, they also served as a Director for the RTRN Data and Technology Coordinating Center. In 1985, they joined the Institute for Technology Development as Senior Vice President of Research and New Ventures. From 1990 to 2003, they were the President of CSY Inc, where they developed a multimedia program for K-12 schools called "Faces of Science." In 2008, they worked as an SAP Consultant at CDU. In 2015, they became a consultant and President at Translational Technologies LLC. Currently, they are with SportsID, Inc, where they have held positions of Vice President and Chief Research Officer since 2016. Throughout their career, James Perkins has demonstrated a strong background in research, technology, and leadership.
James Perkins earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Chemistry from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania in the years 1961-1965. Following this, they pursued their education at the University of Pittsburgh and completed a PhD in Physical Chemistry between 1967 and 1971.
