Amrish Kapoor

VP of Engineering at Spot AI

Amrish Kapoor has a comprehensive work experience spanning over two decades. Amrish started their career at Pace Soft-Silicon in 2001 as a Software Engineer in the Video Group. Amrish then joined Codito Technologies in 2002 as a Senior Software Engineer in the DSP division. In 2003, they were promoted to Program Manager, leading Codito's Multimedia team and developing components of their Multicore programmability solution. Amrish worked there until 2006 and made significant contributions in parallel encoders and decoders and DSP scheduling algorithms.

Following Codito Technologies, Amrish joined Azingo in 2006 as a Technical Architect & Manager. Amrish led teams responsible for architecting and developing multimedia components of Azingo's Mobile Linux Platform. Amrish also played a role in defining platform architecture and representing Azingo in mobile standards bodies. Amrish stayed with Azingo until 2009.

In 2008, Amrish became a Primary Member of the Architecture Council at Limo Foundation, representing Azingo Inc. This council focused on defining and streamlining the architecture of the mobile Linux platform developed by the foundation.

Amrish then worked as an Intern Associate at University Venture Fund in 2009 before joining Microsoft in 2010. At Microsoft, they worked in the Desktop Optimization Pack (MDOP) team and took a lead role in developing the User Experience Virtualization (UE-V) product. Amrish contributed to the team until 2014.

In 2014, Amrish joined Platform9 Systems as Director of Engineering. Later, they were promoted to VP Engineering, overseeing the engineering department. Amrish held this position until 2023.

Currently, Amrish Kapoor is working at Spot AI as the VP of Engineering, a position they have held since April 2023.

Amrish Kapoor completed their education in a chronological order. In 1995, they attended St. Vincents and obtained a High School Certificate (H.S.C) with a focus on Science. Following this, from 1997 to 2001, Amrish Kapoor pursued a Bachelor of Engineering degree in Computer Science at Vishwakarma Institute of Technology, University of Pune. Lastly, from 2003 to 2004, they attended King's College London and obtained a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Digital Signal Processing with a major in Intelligent Signal Processing.
