Kristian Lindwall

Kristian Lindwall is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in data, machine learning, and software development. Currently serving as Director of Engineering at Spotify since August 2013, Kristian has held various roles including Senior Engineering Manager and Site Lead Engineering in San Francisco, where the focus was on scaling the Spotify experience across platforms. Kristian also initiated a department focused on enhancing engineering effectiveness and led an agile coaching team aimed at fostering high performance within client app teams. Prior experience includes managing development teams at Avanza Bank, where Kristian played pivotal roles in scrum implementation and software development, along with early career positions in IT management and customer support. Kristian holds a Master’s degree in Computer and Systems Science from Uppsala University and a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology from Griffith University.
