John Gilbert

John Gilbert has a diverse work experience in various research and engineering roles. John is currently working as a Research Engineer at SPR Therapeutics, Inc. since January 2022. Prior to this, they were a Graduate Student Researcher in Biomedical Engineering at Duke University from August 2016 to January 2022. John also gained industry experience as an Intern at Boston Scientific in May 2018.

Before their graduate studies, John worked as a Peer Mentor/Capstone Coordinator at the University of Utah from August 2014 to September 2016, and as a Research Assistant at the Mario Capecchi Laboratory, University of Utah from March 2014 to April 2016. John also interned at the National Institutes of Health in June 2015.

John's early research experience includes working as a Research Assistant at the University of Utah Orthopaedic Center from January 2013 to February 2014. John also worked as a Staff member at Camp Kostopulos in June to August 2011. Overall, John has a strong background in research and engineering, with a focus on biomedical engineering.

John Gilbert completed their education in a chronological order. John began their academic journey at Rowland Hall, where they attended from 1998 to 2012. Following that, from 2012 to 2016, they obtained an Honors Bachelor of Science degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering from the University of Utah. Concurrently, they pursued further education at Duke University from 2016 to 2018, obtaining a Master of Science degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering. Finally, they continued their studies at Duke University Graduate School from 2016 to 2021 and successfully earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Bioengineering and Biomedical Engineering.
