Carla's past experience also includes working at Unilever as the Senior Nutrition & Health Manager Refreshment Latam & Soy Global, where they were responsible for multiple categories and developed communication strategies with health influencers. Additionally, they worked as a Health Marketing & Communication Manager at SPRIM and as a Marketing Manager at TGI Friday's Brazil, focusing on marketing restructuring and partnership negotiations.

Carla Bartels has a diverse education history. Carla obtained their Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Nutrition from the Universidade de São Paulo (USP) from 1992 to 1996. After that, they pursued a Postgraduate degree in Marketing (POS) from ESPM Escola Superior de Propaganda e Marketing from 1997 to 1999. In 2001, Carla earned an MBA in e-Business from Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). Carla then put their Master's degree in Nutrition Sciences from USP on hold from 2012 to 2014. Carla recently completed a Master's degree in Environmental Protection & Agricultural Food Production from the University of Hohenheim, which they attended from 2021 to 2023.

Additionally, Carla has obtained several certifications to enhance their skills. In 2019, they received a Certificate of Achievement from Monash University. In 2018, they completed courses in "Content Marketing: Social Media" and "Elearning Essentials: Storyboarding" from LinkedIn.
