Gerd Jan Lortzer

Gerd Jan Lortzer is a seasoned geophysicist with over 33 years of extensive experience in oil and gas projects, currently serving as a Rock Physics Technical Assurer at ELSA ENERGY since August 2023. Lortzer holds a PhD in Geophysics from Delft University of Technology and has held various key positions, including Principal Associate Consultant at Sproule and Principal Geophysicist at GJL geophysics. Previous roles include senior positions at Sarawak Shell Bhd, Petroleum Development Oman, and Shell, where Lortzer specialized in quantitative interpretation of seismic data and led significant geophysical projects. Additionally, Lortzer has contributed to animal welfare as a volunteer ambulance assistant.
