Paul Casarin

Paul Casarin has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Paul is currently working as the Chief Information Officer at Spur Corporation. Prior to that, they were the Co-Founder and CIO at Pet Rock Investments, where they set up FinTech systems and operational platforms focused on emerging technologies. Before that, Paul served as the Head of eCommerce at TFG (The Foschini Group), leading the African eCommerce operations and optimization for over 20 retail apparel and homeware brands. Paul also held the role of Head of Digital Marketing at The Shoprite Group of Companies, where they oversaw digital channels, eCommerce, and customer insights.

Paul has also worked at eBay as the COO of eBay Classifieds Emerging Markets and at Naspers Limited as a General Manager, where they launched and ran online classifieds/marketplace platforms in South Africa, Nigeria, and Kenya. Additionally, they have experience at Woolworths, South Africa, as a Program Manager and at Ernst & Young as a Computer Audit Consultant.

Throughout their career, Paul Casarin has demonstrated expertise in digital transformation, digital marketing, eCommerce, and strategy.

Paul Casarin obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (BCOM) in Business Economics from the University of the Witwatersrand from 1988-1991. Paul then pursued a Bachelor of Commerce Honours (BCOMPT(HONS)) in Accounting at the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika from 1994-1998. Finally, they received a Master of Commerce (MCOM) in Information Systems from the University of Cape Town from 1997-1999.
