Alastair Smith

Alastair Smith is an experienced planning and project development professional currently serving as the Head of Project Development at Squadron Energy since November 2021, overseeing development projects through to financial close. Prior to this role, Alastair worked as a Senior Project Manager and Principal Environmental Planner at Jacobs, where responsibilities included managing environmental assessments for infrastructure projects. Alastair also served as the Victoria Environment Team Leader and Principal Statutory Planner at Arcadis, Project Development Manager at Goldwind Australia, and led waste infrastructure planning initiatives at Sustainability Victoria. Alastair's earlier experience includes project management roles at Wind Prospect and planning positions at Somerset County Council and Swindon Borough Council. Alastair holds a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning from the University of South Australia and a Certificate of UK Planning Law and Practice from Leeds Beckett University.
