Balaji Venkat Sathia Narayanan

Balaji Venkat Sathia Narayanan is a quantitative researcher with extensive experience in alpha research and data analysis in the cash equity markets and high-energy physics. Currently employed at Squarepoint Capital since April 2023, Balaji focuses on mid-frequency alpha research. Prior to this role, Balaji was a doctoral student at CERN from June 2018 to January 2023, contributing to the CMS Experiment and developing an analysis pipeline and novel particle track reconstruction algorithms. Additional experience includes roles at UC San Diego as a graduate research assistant, where Balaji analyzed data from the Large Hadron Collider, and internships at Squarepoint Capital and research positions at the Heidelberg Institute for Theoretical Studies and the National Centre for Radio Astrophysics. Balaji holds a PhD in Physics from UC San Diego and a BS in Physics from the Indian Institute of Science.
