Satya Kakita

Satya Kakita has a diverse work experience spanning over 23 years. Satya started their career as a Software Developer at IBM in 1998 and worked there until 2000. Satya then joined Autodesk as a Senior Software Engineer and worked there until 2009.

In 2009, Satya joined Phoenix Technologies as an Engineering Manager and worked there until 2010. Satya then moved to Openwave, where they held the position of Manager of SW Custom Development and Quality Assurance from 2010 to 2012.

From 2012 to 2015, Satya worked at Openwave Messaging, Inc. as a Senior Manager of Engineering Shared Services. During this time, they managed software development teams, introduced new tools and methodologies, and led quality engineering and DevOps efforts.

Satya's most recent experience is at SquareTrade. Satya joined the company in 2015 as a Director of Engineering and was responsible for software architecture, development, and quality engineering. In 2020, they were promoted to Senior Director of Engineering and later became the VP of Engineering in 2023. In these roles, they were instrumental in building high-performing engineering organizations, improving release management processes, and identifying critical areas for improvement within the company. Satya also played a key role in defining annual roadmaps, managing budgets, and negotiating software contracts. Additionally, they focused on revamping legacy software and expanding engineering teams globally.

Satya Kakita has a Master's degree in Computer Engineering from the University of South Carolina. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Electronics and Communication from Osmania University.
