Hans Michael Anselmo Hess

Hans Michael Anselmo Hess is a Course Lead at dBs Institute, overseeing the BA (Hons) Music and Sound for Film & TV and BA (Hons) Sound Design programs since September 2024. As a seasoned Film Composer and production music writer since October 2013, Hans contributes compositions to various organizations including Squeak E. Clean Studios, amp sound branding, BMG Production Music (Benelux) BV, Muchas Music, Wrong Planet Music, and Figure and Groove, all from multiple starting years in 2019 through 2023. Additionally, Hans serves as an External Examiner at the University of Liverpool and has held the position of Senior Lecturer in Film Music Composition at Leeds Conservatoire from September 2017 to September 2024. Academic qualifications include a Ph.D. in Musicology and Ethnomusicology from the University of Bristol, a Master's Degree in Music Composition for Film/TV from the same institution, and a Bachelor's Degree in Music, specializing in classical guitar performance, from the Federal University of Rio.
