Dayal Wijeratne

Dayal Wijeratne has extensive experience in aviation, currently serving as Flight Safety Manager and Captain of A330/320 at SriLankan Airlines Official since February 2011. Previous roles include Wing Commander in the Sri Lanka Air Force from April 1989 to February 2011, where Dayal held captaincy for various aircraft, including Bell412 and Mi 17. Educational qualifications include AirFase-Event Creation and Analysis Training from Teledyne Controls LAX USA and Safety Risk Assessment Training from IATA Training, both completed in April 2025. Dayal has also completed ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System Internal Auditor Training in October 2022 and holds a Master of Science in Defence Studies from General Sir John Kotelawala Defence University, attained in January 2006. Additional training includes Safety Management Systems for Airlines from IATA Training and a GCE A/L in Mathematics from Royal College Colombo.
