Ed Saunders is a Principal Consultant and Practice Leader in Mining Rock Mechanics at SRK Consulting, specializing in waste rock and open pit slope for technical studies and mine operations since June 2016. Prior to this role, Ed held multiple positions at Golder Associates from January 2010 to June 2016, including Rock Mechanics Specialist and various engineering geology roles, where responsibilities encompassed field investigation, stability assessment, and geotechnical support for mining operations in Canada and internationally. Ed's foundational experience includes project management and engineering assessments for mining and civil projects in Australia and Indonesia. Ed holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Engineering Geology from the University of Canterbury, a Masters of Engineering Science in Geotechnical Engineering and Engineering Geology from UNSW, and a Bachelor of Science in Geology from the University of Canterbury.
