William Joughin is a South African mining engineer with over 25 years of experience in mining and rock engineering. Beginning their career in 1991, William gained operational experience on deep gold mines before joining SRK Consulting in 1998, where they currently serve as Chairman. They have provided consultancy services for mining projects across six continents and specialize in geotechnical investigation, numerical modeling, and risk analysis for underground mining excavations. William has published numerous works in rock engineering and held leadership roles within professional organizations, including serving as Past President of the South African National Institute of Rock Engineering. William earned both an MSc and BSc in Mining Engineering from the University of the Witwatersrand.
