Davy McCracken

Deputy Head Of School: Knowledge Exchange & Innovation at SRUC

Davy McCracken has extensive experience in agricultural ecology and rural policy, serving as the Deputy Head of School for Knowledge Exchange & Innovation and an Associate of the SRUC Rural Policy Centre since April 1995. McCracken is also a Professor of Agricultural Ecology and leads the Hill & Mountain Research Centre at SRUC, focusing on systems-scale research within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. In addition to these roles, McCracken is involved in various committees and forums, such as the National Sea Eagle Stakeholder Group and Scotland's Moorland Forum, promoting sustainable land management. Editorial responsibilities include consulting editor for Nature Conservation and serving on the editorial board of Pastoralism. McCracken holds a PhD in Agricultural Ecology and a BSc Honours in Agricultural Zoology from the University of Glasgow.
