Ben Roberts

Ben Roberts has a diverse work experience spanning various industries. Ben most recently worked at SSE Energy Solutions as the Commercial Director, starting in February 2023. Prior to that, they held the position of Head of Commercial UK&I Solar & Battery at SSE Energy Solutions from May 2019 to March 2023. Before joining SSE Energy Solutions, Ben worked at SSE plc as the Regional Commercial Manager from November 2016 to May 2019, where they led a commercial team and delivered M&E projects. Ben also worked at Centrica as the Commercial Manager, Distributed Energy & Power from March 2012 to November 2016. Earlier in their career, Ben held roles at Contact Energy Ltd as the Commercial & Contract Manager from February 2011 to March 2012, at FCC as the Operations and Contract Manager from July 2004 to January 2011, and at Tarmac as the Operations Manager from August 2001 to June 2004.

Ben Roberts completed their undergraduate education from 1997 to 2000 at the University of Birmingham, earning a 2:1 BSc degree. Ben studied an unspecified field of study during this time. In 2021, they enrolled in The University of Salford to pursue an MSc degree in Construction Law and Practice, and they are currently still attending the program.

In addition to their formal education, Ben has obtained several certifications throughout their career. In 2019, they completed a certification in "Financing and Investing in Infrastructure" from Università Bocconi. Ben obtained another certification in "Advanced Valuation and Strategy" from Erasmus Universiteit Rotterdam in 2018. Additionally, in 2011, Ben received a "Certificate in Management" from the Chartered Management Institute.
