Dean Wilkinson McIps

Dean Wilkinson MCIPS has extensive work experience in procurement, commercial operations, and supply chain management. Dean currently holds the position of Head of Commercial & Procurement - SEPD Operations at SSE plc, where they provide leadership and support for the development, operation, and investment in electricity infrastructure for the transition to net zero. Prior to this, Dean held the position of Head of Procurement and later Head of Transformation at the National Oceanography Centre. Dean also served as the Contracts, Procurement & Supply Chain Lead for Global Capital Projects at PREMIER OIL PLC. Dean has a proven track record in delivering effective commercial strategies for international capital projects during their tenure as a Senior Contracts & Procurement Manager at Shell and as a Senior Contracts & Procurement Specialist at ConocoPhillips. Dean began their professional career as a Royal Marines Commando before transitioning into the private sector. Dean's expertise lies in contract design, evaluation, negotiation, and implementation in complex supply chain environments.

Dean Wilkinson MCIPS completed a Project Leadership Programme - Infrastructure and Projects Authority (APM accredited) at Cranfield School of Management in 2021-2022. In 2002-2005, they earned a Master's degree (P/T) in International Marketing (B2B) from Robert Gordon University. Prior to that, they attended London Business School from 2001-2004 for a 3-year Executive Leadership programme (P/T) focused on Executive Leadership. Dean also holds a BA Hons in Business Administration and Management from Robert Gordon University (1999-2002) and an HNC in Business Administration and Accounting from UHI in 1992-1993. Dean has additional certifications, including MCIPS and Ethical Procurement and Supply from CIPS - The Chartered Institute of Procurement & Supply in 2021, as well as a Project Leadership Programme from Cranfield School of Management in 2022.
