Ian Love

Ian Love is an experienced professional in the renewable energy sector, currently serving as Hydro Field Operations Manager at SSE Renewables since June 2021. Prior to this role, Ian held significant positions at SIMEC from December 2016 to June 2021, including Power & Hydro Manager, where responsibilities encompassed managing hydro power stations and leading a multi-disciplined team. Ian's career also includes a tenure at Rio Tinto from September 2008 to December 2016 as Power & Maintenance Superintendent, overseeing asset management and ensuring safe and efficient power generation. Earlier roles included Electrical Engineer at Rio Tinto during a major power-station refit and various positions at Alcan from June 2005 to September 2008. Ian Love holds a BEng (Hons) in Electrical Power Engineering from Edinburgh Napier University and a BSc in Electrical and Electronic from UHI.
