Adam Rengstorf has extensive experience in academia and research. Adam began their career as a Postdoctoral Research Associate at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign from August 2003 to August 2005. Adam then joined Purdue University Northwest, where they held various roles, including Assistant Professor of Physics and Astronomy from August 2005 to July 2010, Associate Professor of Physics and Astronomy from August 2010 to present, Director of the Northwest Indiana Robotic Observatory from May 2016 to present, and currently serves as the Interim Department Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Physics since August 2021. In addition, they have also worked at The Summer Science Program, serving as Associate Academic Director from June 2012 to June 2014, and later as the Academic Director from June 2014 to present.
Adam Rengstorf received their education in astronomy and physics, earning a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Physics from Binghamton University in 1996. Adam then pursued further studies at Indiana University Bloomington, where they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Astronomy in 2003.
