Andrew Waples

Andrew Waples has a strong background in information security and technology management. Andrew is currently serving as the Chief Information Security Officer at St Andrew's Healthcare, where they are responsible for developing and leading the information security program. Prior to this, they held the position of Deputy Head of Technology and Head of Cyber Security at NHS University Hospitals of Northamptonshire, where they played a crucial role in implementing digital transformation strategies and establishing IT security policies. Andrew also has experience as an Interim Chief Information Security Officer at Nike Computing and as the Head of Information Technology and Information Security at Swiss International. Earlier in their career, they served as the Global Information Technology & Security Director at Rugby School and as the Director of Information Technology and Head of Information Security EMEA at Eracent. Andrew Waples began their career in the UK Ministry of Defence, where they held the position of Departmental Head of Information Technology Security & Compliance for almost three decades. Overall, they have extensive experience in developing and implementing IT security strategies, managing IT teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards.

Andrew Waples has a diverse education history. In 2003, they completed an MSc in Information Technology at Liverpool John Moores University. Later that year, they also obtained a BSc in Information Technology from the same institution. In 2007, Andrew completed a Diploma in Senior Management at the Institute of Leadership and Management (formerly NEBS(M)). Andrew also holds a Certificate in Education from the University of Plymouth, although the specific dates of completion are unknown.

In addition to their formal education, Andrew has obtained several certifications. These include Mental Health First Aid from Nuco Training Ltd in 2024, Strategic Planning from The University of Salford in 2018, and a Diploma in Senior Management from the Institute of Leadership and Management.
