Michael Hurlbert, AICP has extensive work experience in planning, economic development, and community development. In their most recent role as Director of Community Development for St. Charles County Government, they were responsible for overseeing planning and zoning, development review, and building and code enforcement activities. Prior to that, they served as the Director of Economic Development for the City of O'Fallon, Missouri, where they focused on promoting business growth and improving the city's overall business climate. Michael has also worked as an Associate Director at PGAV Planners, where they helped foster public-private partnerships and implemented economic development tools. Additionally, they gained experience as a City Planner and Economic Development Administrator at the City of Creve Coeur and as a Project Planner at the City of Chesterfield. Earlier in their career, they worked at George Butler Associates, Inc., where they were involved in comprehensive planning, right-of-way acquisition, and building inspection.
Michael Hurlbert, AICP, holds a Master's degree in Urban Affairs from Saint Louis University, which they earned from 2002 to 2004. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor's degree in Business Administration at Lindenwood University from 1995 to 1998. Michael graduated from Duchesne High School in 1989. Additionally, Hurlbert obtained certifications from the American Institute of Certified Planners and the American Planning Association in September 2005.
