Ellen Tanner

Ellen Tanner served in various roles related to emergency management, beginning as an EMA Assistant Director at St. Clair County EMA from 1998 to 2002. Ellen then became the Director of the Emergency Management Agency with St. Clair County from 2002 to 2017, dedicating over 24 years to coordinating crucial emergency response efforts. Currently, as the Director of St. Clair County EMA since 1993, Tanner manages planning, response, recovery, and mitigation initiatives, overseeing significant funding and collaboration with local emergency services to enhance community preparedness. Ellen has worked through numerous incidents, including the devastating tornadoes in 2011, and is committed to fostering resilience among residents and businesses in St. Clair County.
