Magnus Ström

CEO at S:t Eriks AB

Magnus Ström has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Magnus began their career at ABB PG large Power Transformers in 2004, where they served as Controller with worldwide responsibility for Large Power Transformers. In 2005, they moved to ABB Transformers/Power Transformers (LPT) and assumed the role of Vice President of Marketing & Sales.

In 2009, Magnus took on the role of President at ABB Chongqing Transformer Co. Ltd, leading a power transformer joint venture between ABB and a local state-owned company in China.

In 2011, they joined ABB Transformers, Sweden, where they held various senior leadership positions, including Senior Vice President and General Manager of Power Transformers Ludvika. Magnus was responsible for selling, designing, and manufacturing large power transformers, with the unit employing 850 employees and generating an annual revenue of 400-500 MUSD.

In 2016, Magnus briefly served as CEO for Liljedahl Bare Wire, a leading supplier of copper wire rod and overhead catenary systems.

Moving to ABB Transformers in 2017, Magnus became the Group Vice President and Business Development Manager, leading the "Power Up" program within the Power Grids division. Magnus was also a member of the Global Management Team for Business Unit Transformers.

In 2018, Magnus took on the role of Group Vice President and General Manager ABB Ludvika at ABB, where they managed operations at the company's Ludvika site, employing around 3000 people and specializing in high voltage products and services.

From 2019 to 2023, Magnus served as CEO of Spæncom A/S, a leading precast concrete provider in Denmark. In addition to their role, they were also a board member at Spenncon AS, a concrete precast provider in Norway. Magnus had overall responsibility for Consolis business in both countries.

In 2023, Magnus joined S:t Eriks AB as CEO.

Magnus Ström pursued their education at Uppsala University from 1992 to 1996, where they obtained a Master of Science degree in Business Administration and Marketing.
