Nicholas York serves as a comprehensive general ophthalmologist at St George's Hospital since September 2019, with specialized interests in cataracts, corneal surgery, glaucoma, and medical retina. Nicholas completed a Corneal Fellowship at The Royal Victorian Eye and Ear Hospital and has held various positions including ophthalmologist at Tygervalley Eye & Laser Centre and Somerset Eye Clinic, as well as serving as an ophthalmology registrar at Groote Schuur Hospital, University of Cape Town, and at several hospitals affiliated with the University of KwaZulu-Natal. Nicholas began medical training with a medical internship at Victoria Hospital, followed by an MMed in Ophthalmology from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from the University of the Witwatersrand. Educational credentials also include the FC Ophth (SA) and Dip Ophth (SA) from the College of Medicine South Africa, alongside secondary education completed at Westville Boys High School.
