Steven L. Biener

General Counsel at St. George's University

Steven L. Biener is responsible for providing overall leadership and direction for all legal matters, and provides legal and strategic business advice and counsel to the Board, President, administrative officers, and academic deans, faculty, and staff.

Mr. Biener joined the SGU family after spending a decade at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), most recently as a Deputy General Counsel, for which he assisted the General Counsel with matters ranging from regulatory implementations and strategic transactions to litigation and corporate governance. Mr. Biener has also served as an attorney for such organizations as AmerisourceBergen Corporation, Cozen and O’Connor, and Delmarva Power.

Active in the community, Mr. Biener was a gubernatorial appointee to the advisory board overseeing the Delaware Economic Development Office for 18 years, and spent 12 years volunteering for a non-profit Jewish community center. Mr. Biener obtained his Bachelor of Science from Cornell University before obtaining his JD from New York University School of Law.
