Chris Schmied is an experienced professional in learning, training, and skills development, currently serving as the Director of Learning, Training and Skills Development at St. John Ambulance Ontario since January 2022. Previously, Chris held the position of Manager of Learning for St. John Ambulance Canada, overseeing training standards and curriculum for Ontario's branches, excluding Ottawa. Chris has extensive experience as a Certifying Instructor at St. John Ambulance Canada, recognized with the George Sterling Ryerson Award for Excellence in Teaching. Additional roles include Corporate Training Specialist at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, where implementation of the ConnectingOntario application was facilitated, and Enterprise Systems Trainer at Baxter International Inc., where training programs significantly increased productivity. Chris holds a degree in Adult Education from the University of Toronto and studied at Seneca Polytechnic.
