Shane Tong

Shane Tong has over two decades of experience in education, currently serving as the Principal of St John's College, Hamilton since January 2012, where a personal connection to the school enriches the role. Prior to this, Shane held the position of Deputy Principal at Cambridge High School for seven years, covering diverse responsibilities in personnel, curriculum, and pastoral care, and gained further experience as Assistant Principal at Raglan Area School. Shane began teaching as an Assistant Teacher at Cambridge High School, where the journey in education began. With a strong academic background including a Master’s degree from The University of Waikato, Shane specializes in English and has a keen interest in educational leadership.
