Veronica Ataya has extensive work experience in various roles and industries. Veronica started their career as an intern at Södra Cell Sweden, where they worked in the Analysis Laboratory, developing a new method for measuring wash loss in pulp. Veronica then worked as a Sales Supervisor at Merkat Imports Venezuela, where they managed sales representatives and interacted with clients.
Veronica then joined the University of Toronto as a Research Assistant in the Food Engineering Group, working on projects related to fortification, protein sources, and biofuels. Veronica also served as a Teaching Assistant for a chemical engineering course on Plant Design.
Afterwards, Veronica worked at Celplast Metallized Products Limited for several years. Veronica held roles as a Product Development Engineer, responsible for developing new products and managing the R&D lab, and a Business Development Engineer, focusing on expanding the company's business in the Midwest USA, Western USA/Canada, and Latin America. Veronica later became the Business Development Manager, leading the development of high-quality metallized film solutions for flexible packaging applications.
Most recently, Veronica Ataya joined St. John's Packaging as the Director of Marketing and Innovation, where they oversee the marketing strategies and innovations for the company.
Veronica Ataya holds an Executive MBA degree from the Ivey Business School at Western University, which they obtained from 2015 to 2017. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Applied Science degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto from 2008 to 2010. Veronica started their academic journey at Universidad Simón Bolívar, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering from 2000 to 2006.
