Heather Rountree

Environmental Scientist II at ST JOHNS RIVER WATER MANAGEMENT DISTRICT

Heather Rountree is an experienced environmental scientist currently serving in the role of Environmental Scientist II at St. Johns River Water Management District since November 2017, after previously holding the position of Environmental Scientist I. Prior to this, Rountree gained valuable experience as an Environmental Education Intern at WaterVentures, where educational programs were developed for elementary-aged children focusing on water conservation and Florida freshwater. Previous internships include land management at Alachua Conservation Trust, where invasive plant species were managed, and environmental analysis at PotashCorp, involving water sample collection and testing. Rountree's early experience includes roles in construction with the Florida Department of Transportation. Rountree earned a Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science from the University of Florida and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Forest Resources and Conservation at the same institution.
