Grant Geissler MD FACS FAAP has extensive work experience in the field of pediatric surgery. grant is currently the Medical Director of Children's Surgery and the Chairman of Process Improvement and Patient Safety in the Surgical Division at St. Joseph's Children's Hospital of Tampa since 2018. grant also serves as the Chairman of the Process Improvement in Patient Safety Committee at the same institution.

Prior to their current position, they worked at BayCare Health System as the Division Head of the Department of Pediatric Surgery from 2017 onwards.

Dr. Geissler has worked at several other prestigious institutions including Advocate Lutheran General Hospital, where they served as an Attending Surgeon in Pediatric Thoracic and General Surgery. grant was also the Site Director of General Surgery Residency and a Surgical Lecturer at the same hospital. grant worked at Lutheran General Hospital from 1992 to 2017.

grant is the President and Founder of Children's Surgical Specialists, LLC, a role they held from 2003 to 2013.

Dr. Geissler has also held academic positions at Northwestern University - The Feinberg School of Medicine and Lurie Children's Hospital as an Assistant Professor of Surgery. grant has also worked as a Clinical Instructor in Surgery at the University of Chicago - The Pritzker School of Medicine.

Following this, they attended the University of Illinois College of Medicine from 1981 to 1985, where they earned their Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree. grant then pursued a General Surgery Residency at both the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and UT Southwestern Medical Center from 1985 to 1990. In 1990, Dr. Geissler continued their education at Temple University - Lewis Katz School of Medicine, specializing in Pediatric General and Thoracic Surgery, Liver and Kidney Transplantation, and obtained a degree in Pediatric Surgery.
