John D. Crispino

Director, Division of Experimental Hematology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital

John D. Crispino is the current Director of the Division of Experimental Hematology at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Prior to their current position, John was an undergraduate researcher at Northwestern Medicine, where they designed and conducted research studying the epigenetic function of the GATA1 transcription factor isoforms in erythropoiesis and pathogenesis of human blood diseases. John has also served as an undergraduate teaching assistant at Northwestern University, where they taught techniques, lab application, data collection and analysis to a close advisory of 24 students in a lab section conducting experiments ranging from genetics and cell biology utilizing C. elegans, cel cultures, and drosophila models. Additionally, John has served as a Research Teaching Educator & Supervisor at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics, and as a Teaching Assistant at the North Carolina School of Science and Mathematics.

John D. Crispino received their Bachelor of Arts in Cellular and Molecular Biology from Northwestern University.

John D. Crispino reports to James R. Downing, President & CEO. They work with Virgil Holder - Vice President, Chief of Staff, Carlos Rodriguez-Galindo - EVP & Chair of Department of Global Pediatric Medicine, and Kelvin Womack - SVP, Chief Diversity & Inclusion Officer.
