Jose Fernandez

Jose Fernandez is currently the SVP of Campus Operations & Design and Construction at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Prior to this, they were the Interim Facilities Executive at WittKieffer from January 2020 to July 2021, where they provided tactical and strategic leadership for the planning, design, and construction of $700+ million of capital improvements for a multi-campus research university and academic medical center. From March 2017 to November 2019, Jose was the Assistant Vice President Facilities Planning, Real Estate & Plant Operations at Valencia College, leading a 160 employee, multi-disciplined facility organization responsible for plant operations, strategic facilities planning, capital improvements, environmental compliance, and sustainability for six academic campuses. Jose began their career in 2010 as the University Architect and Executive Director of Campus Planning Design and Construction Manangment at the University of Rochester, where they served for 6 years.

Jose Fernandez attended the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, where they earned a Master of Engineering in civil engineering, a Master of Architecture, and a Bachelor of Science in architecture.

They work with Robin Mutz - SVP & Chief Nurse Executive, Richard S. Finkel - Director, Center for Experimental Neurotherapeutics, and P. David Rogers - Chair, Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Jose Fernandez reports to James R. Downing, President & CEO.
